And the Walls Came Tumbling Down...
We were going to remodel our house. When the house was being dismantled, it became apparent that nothing was salvageable--not even the foundation, which had no structural steel or footings (and we're on the edge of a canyon!!). So, the whole house had to come down and it didn't take long to take it apart piece by piece. In fact, when it was all done, the materials only filled one demolition dumpster! Basically we were living in a grown-up treehouse...
DEMOLITION DAY 1
After just one day of work, the house was barely there...

DEMOLITION DAY 2
The view from the living room is even better than before...

And my bedroom is even more of a mess than usual...

DEMOLITION DAY 3
The upper two floors are gone...

And just an unfinished bottom floor remains...

DEMOLITON DAY 4
Looking up to the street from what used to be the bottom level of the house...

Woo hoo! We're going to get a whole new house!...

DEMOLITION DAY 5
Out comes the foundation...

And this is about all of the steel in that foundation...
