My First Camping Trip
The day after Thanksgiving, my Dad and I drove up to the mountain town Julian; Grammy and Papa drove up, too, in their car. That night, my Dad and I camped at William Heise Park. My Dad called it "car camping," since our tent was set up in a campsite by our car. During the night, people in the campsite next to us were whooping it up and playing loud music. While lying in the tent I asked my Dad "How can all that noise come through the zipper?"
Papa and Grammy helped set up the tent, but didn't stay the night.

In the morning, my Dad and I went on two hikes. I gathered kindling wood on the first trail.

We were at an altitude of over 4,000 feet and in the morning it was cold!

I took a photo of my Dad in William Heise Park, where we camped.

On the second hike, I took a break on a log near a burned tree. A huge forest fire had gone through the area 3 years before.
