Middle Level of House in Progress

In late March 2007, this is what the middle level of our house-under-construction looked like. Since the house is on a canyon edge, it's taken many months to excavate and prepare a foundation.

View from the middle level of the house toward the steel portion of the frame. The flimsy wooden railing is there to keep the construction workers from accidentally going over the edge.

Excavation near the street, where my bedroom and bathroom will be.

This is a similar view a couple weeks later, with the rebar in place for a concrete pour, to form the foundation and retaining wall at the middle level of the house.

And up close, you can see that it looks a bit like an archeological dig!
