Easter Event at the Marston House

Tucked into one corner of Balboa Park is an historic house that most people in San Diego don't know is there. The Marston House is in the Arts and Crafts style and was built in 1905 by a family that owned a popular department store and did a lot of philanthropy.

On 1 April 2007, the San Diego Historical Society held an Easter event at the Marston House, which I attended with my Dad and Grammy. I hunted for Easter eggs, went on a tour of the house, met the Easter bunny, and played bean bag toss. The weather was perfect and we had a great time, enjoying what felt like a small town event, though we're in a big city.

This is the Marston House with the driveway leading to the porte cochere. Can you believe I know that fancy French term? My Dad taught it to me.

Woo hoo, I found a bunch of Easter eggs with prizes inside! In this picture I'm holding a purple egg in my right hand.

Grammy posed with me by the back patio of the house, while an old-fashioned band set up.

I tossed a bean bag at the target...

...and here's the follow-through.
