The House is Fully Framed

By 21 May 2007, our new house was fully framed, with one layer of the roof partially installed. Here are some progress photos.

One wall of the living/dining/kitchen area has a patterned set of windows. Here are the openings for the windows; the windows themselves will be installed mid-June 2007.

The living/dining/kitchen area will have an open-beamed ceiling. This view is toward Mission Hills Park.

The front door will be 4 feet wide by 8 feet tall and will have a metal frame with reeded glass. I've seen the new door and it's really cool!

My unfinished bedroom has a concrete wall and a concrete floor.

Del Mar Beach

On 13 May 2007 I went to Del Mar Beach and played with my friend Colin.

We're digging in the sand (click on the picture to enlarge it).

I ran to my Dad to get my body board for playing in the ocean.

My Dad pulled me on my body board in the shallow water.

My Dad likes to swim in the ocean. The wetsuit he's wearing is for surfing, but it comes in handy when in the ocean pretty much any time of the year in San Diego. (The water is c-c-c-c-o-l-d!)

Mother's Day Lunch

We celebrated Mother's Day on 12 April 2007 (one day early). My Dad treated the family to Thai food, which we ate by the pool.

Tourmaline Surf Beach

On 28 April 2007 my Dad and I went to Tourmaline Surf Beach for a day of surfing and playing in the water and sand.

My Dad and I have beginner boards that are made of foam instead of fiberglass or wood. I think my Dad is going to need to stick with the beginner board for a long time! Today was his first attempt at surfing and he never made it up on the board. He'll keep trying.

The cliffside neighborhood of Bird Rock is just North of Tourmaline Surf Beach. Notice the huge wads of seaweed that had washed ashore. Gross.

I tossed a few mudballs into the ocean...

...and jumped over the seaweed.

Scootering at Mission Hills Park

Behind the house we are rebuilding is Mission Hills Park (also known as Pioneer Park). On 18 April 2007, after school I went scootering in the park and Dad took a couple photos of me in action.

Trip to Sacramento with Jack

My friend Jack and I flew unaccompanied to Sacramento to visit with his Dad and family. We had a great time on our trip. My Dad picked us up at the San Diego Airport on 15 April 2007. Jack and I posed for a picture in the parking lot at the airport.

Torrey Pines Beach

On 14 April 2007, my Dad, Grammy, and Papa went for a walk on Del Mar Beach while I was in Sacramento with my friend Jack. My Dad took these pictures with his cell phone camera.
